Growing up, oftentimes I felt unsupported by several educators. Present day, I have had different experiences in both school and outside that have shaped my way of thinking. First and foremost, I believe that students are heavily criticized and unfairly judged. I however, will make it my mission to put the students' needs first over anything and I will do whatever possible to make sure that every single one of my students is given the same opportunities to succeed in education, and on the long run, in life. Afterall, a teacher's primary role is to act as a server to the students, because without the students there would be no teaching profession at all. To me, this is something key: a teacher's primary interest should be supporting students and finding ways to connect with them. 

I also strongly believe that as a teacher, it is my duty to make sure that every single student receives the help needed in order to be successful in my class. It is a given truth that not everyone has the same resources nor opportunities as well as everyone has different learning styles. I will do the best I can to provide for all of my students; that can be either physical materials needed for this course, providing any additional help to struggling students, or creating specific modifications and accommodations for students who require such help. I strongly believe in social justice, what that translates to in my class is that everyone will be welcome, granting inclusivity to all ethnicities, races, beliefs, sexualities, ideas, identities, religion, etc. I will do my absolute best to make everyone feel included and have everyone's voice herd.

In addition, I strongly believe that every single human being should be treated with respect. I have had several experiences where teachers demanded the students' respect, yet would not demonstrate any respect back to the students. In my opinion, respect is a mutual thing and should never be demanded. As a teacher, one must never demand the students' respect, but earn their respect and trust in order to maintain a healthy relationship with the students, hence maintaining a sense of community within the classroom. 

To conclude, I believe that my primary goal as a teacher is to serve my students and help pave the way for their educational and personal success by creating a positive and fun classroom setting. Creating a healthy student-teacher relationship is something key and I believe that having a community based classroom creates a healthy environment for both the teacher and the students. Finally, I am a strong believer of finding the things that make you happy, therefore, I believe that if you do what you love, you will never work a single day of your life; teaching is my passion and working with the youth is something that I love.
